Karen is a licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Florida, with a Master’s in Functional Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, CT. Since 2017, Karen has dedicated herself to supporting clients through personalized, functional nutrition. She is a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and a Certified Practitioner with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFMCP), bringing a wealth of expertise to help clients uncover root causes of health imbalances through sustainable, individualized strategies.
Karen’s approach emphasizes meeting each client where they are, focusing on the power of personalized plans and small, intentional changes that create lasting impact. Known for her ability to simplify functional nutrition, Karen’s “zone of genius” lies in guiding clients to implement practical, sustainable habits. She thrives in collaborative care, working alongside doctors, coaches, and specialists to ensure a holistic approach that addresses all aspects of an individual’s needs.
Karen’s journey into nutrition began with her own search for health solutions to manage allergies and asthma. Resolving her own health challenges sparked a deep commitment to lifestyle-focused, personalized nutrition. Following a transformative mentorship experience, Karen now prioritizes mentorship in her own work, serving as both a mentor and CNS supervisor with the Nutrition and Herbal Collective and as adjunct faculty at George Washington University’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences in the Integrative Medicine Program.
Outside the clinic, Karen enjoys life in southern Maryland with her family, two dogs, and a flock of chickens. She’s an avid reader, DIY enthusiast, and nature lover who can often be found crafting, hiking, or planning her next adventure in a DIY camper van.

Nicole is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach with a passion for Functional Medicine.
She received her Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach certification in 2020 from the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. She then went on to dive further into how food meets physiology at the Functional Nutrition Alliance (FxNA) where she became a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor. She is a foodie who loves scratch cooking and helping clients with dietary challenges find delicious and healthy ways to nourish their bodies.
After decades in the graphic design field, Nicole felt a calling to pursue a new career. As a mom of a son with two autoimmune diseases (Vitiligo and Type 1 Diabetes), she spent many years researching and experimenting with food as medicine and how what they put in their bodies (plus their lifestyle choices) affected his conditions. Nutrition felt like a natural direction for her to go in and as an empath she knew she could sit with clients in their frustration and weariness over a desire for change and could be a guide and provide a truly achievable way forward. Coaching was the perfect avenue to use her talents, and she’s honored to come alongside each client as they endeavor to improve their health and the health of their loved ones.
She has a special place in her heart for the health of all children, so she co-created a Cooking Club at the local elementary school in partnership with the Garden Club to bring farm-to-table skills and education. She is a board member of Camp HiLo, a summer camp for those living with Type 1 Diabetes. She has also been a member of the Wellness Committee of her school district, advocating and rewriting policies for healthy alternatives regarding celebrations and other classroom guidelines regarding nutrition and fitness.
Her favorite things include perfectly ripe Ataulfo mangos, garden fresh thyme and iced Americanos. She gets a little (too) excited when the Cook’s Illustrated catalog arrives, loves gardening, and spending time with her crew - riding bikes or going on hikes in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where she lives. Her top strengths are Spirituality, Love, Gratitude, Honesty, and Perseverance.
Tell Me More About Heal Endo Nutrition Support
How Does This Work? Month 1
When you sign up for nutrition support, you will be teamed up with a highly skilled clinical nutritionist for the first month. Together, you will dig deep into your health history. Our clinician will review all your data, diet, and lifestyle to develop a roadmap specifically tailored for YOU today. This is about anyone else’s health journey, what is popular on social media, or anything else; it’s about having trained eyes on your health, your nutrition preferences, and your time allowances! Together, you will make a plan that works well to get you back on track to better nutritional and lifestyle health.
This partnership is perfect for you if you want 1:1 access to a clinical nutritionist, your own coach, and a truly personalized plan.
Included:
A deep dive one-on-one session with our clinical nutritionist to truly personalize your plan.
Someone to look over your health history, lab results, tests, and more.
Option to include a Continuous Glucose Monitory (CGM, I highly recommend it!) for a slightly higher cost.
Option to include further testing, including hormones, bacterial imbalances, and more, depending on your needs.
Personalized support for ongoing issues such as SIBO, hormonal imbalance, food intolerances, and more.
Tailored supplement recommendations, with a 15% discount, if desired.
Ongoing clinician reviews and plan adjustments to keep you on track.
Weekly check-ins and unlimited messaging with the care team for ongoing support.
Cost for the initial month?
$295/mo + tax [add on’s such as CGM, tests, and supplements would incur an additional charge and are optional]
What comes next? Month 2 - ongoing
After your first month with our expert clinician, you can stay working with your clinician on a month-by-month basis, or you can choose to be instead partnered with a health coach. A health coach is an incredible leader and support mechanism who can hold your hand through the process of making real and lasting changes based on your unique plan. Not to mention, a health coach is a more affordable option than a clinician, so to save money (put it towards better food!) it’s a great option to stay here while you work to improve your diet and lifestyle changes.
Of course, if you need another session with our clinician, we can always get you back on board.
Included:
One monthly 1:1 live session with your coach to keep you on track with your goals and address any challenges that may arise. We are here to help!
Unlimited monthly messaging for all the little things that come up: questions, celebrations, shifting gears, you name it.
Cost for continued support with a health coach?
$195/mo + tax

FAQ
Is this program based on your book and/or info on your site?
More or less, yes; however, the biggest focus is really on YOU! I mean that. Because the Heal Endo Approach is really about all of us uniquely finding the sweet spot for our own diet, lifestyle, and nutritional needs. For example, some of us may need a much higher amount of carbohydrates than others, some of us may be (currently) reacting to very healthy foods while others are not, some may have SIBO or other microbiome imbalances, and some may have serious insulin resistance.
So, in order for each of us to function optimally, it makes sense to work on a case-by-case basis to improve the health of each of our very unique bodies.
What will i learn?
If you stick with working with us for (at least) several months, you will learn how to shop and eat for your body, how many macronutrients you personally need to thrive, what micronutrients can support your health, what you need to lower inflammation, what foods you may be able to reintroduce, how sugar impacts your body, and more! So much more. Basically, if you’ve read my book and blog and want to put that kind of information into practice in your own life, that is what you will learn.
Will this diet and lifestyle heal my endo?
Great Question! And that is a question only you and your medical team can answer. As I outline in all my writing, endometriosis is a complex chronic illness, with some of us finding remission easily and some needing many, many healing modalities to get us to a place of comfort. Yes, this may involve diet and lifestyle (something I’m passionate about), but it may also require something like pelvic floor physical therapy, neuroplasticity training, core function retraining, pharmaceuticals, and/or excision surgery. There are many tools for healing, and diet and lifestyle are but one tool.
That being said, please don’t be let down if you don’t experience all the changes in your endo symptoms you hoped for with diet and lifestyle alone! Endo is complex, we may also have co-diseases/infection, and we are all are unique.
So consider this one step towards your health journey, and let’s symptom track to find out how how much better you feel after a few months.
Do I need to have endometriosis to sign up?
No, you don’t! You can sign without any indiciation of endometriosis. That also means if you like our practitioners you can tell your friends and family about them and they can sign up too.
Will I ever work with you directly, katie?
I'm sorry, but due to a very limited schedule, I don’t have much time for client work these days! I understand just how much time, respect, care, and love each and every client deserves, and I’m unable to give that at this time. This is why I’m partnering with a solid nutrition team so we can help you, even with my own time crunch. So while I won’t be working with you directly, I still think it’s a win-win :)
What If i eat terribly, have food hang-ups, orthorexia, a history of eating disorders, or something else?
Perfect, this plan is still for you :) That’s because (let me reiterate) it’s tailored specifically to you! Don’t like kale and never will? Cool, let’s find something else to eat that won’t make you gag. Can’t focus on food tracking without spiraling into body shame? Let’s avoid that and focus on factors that build you up instead!
Catching what I’m saying? My motto is “Let’s eat better, not perfect.” And when we work to drop obsessions with food on any level (be it an “ick” factor, a calorie factor, or a perfection factor), our nervous systems will start to regulate as well. Let’s have our cake and eat it too! Just make sure to let our team know about your unique health hang-ups so we can be aware of the best way to approach your plan.
Why is this plan so much more affordable than other endometriosis nutritionists?
There are some great endometriosis focused nutritionists and programs out there! And yes, they can be pricey (many at around $5,000 for six months, which translates to $833/mo). This becomes a real barrier for all the women out there wanting to make diet and lifestyle changes to support their health, but being unable to afford such bespoke programs.
To offer a more affordable option to all, I decided to slim down the level of one-on-one calls with our expert clinician (one per month rather than 2-3 as offered in other programs), increase communications via text instead (through an easy to use app), as well as offering more affordable health coach services after the first month. I also made sure that you can cancel anytime, be it because you changed your mind or because your finances changed, so you’ll never be locked in to a big program you can’t afford.
So, I can cancel anytime?
Yes! You will pay on a month-by-month basis. If you don’t want to continue after your last month, let our team know. It’s like a Netflix subscription, but for your health :)
Can I sign back up easily?
Sure! Reach out if the timing feels better, and we’ll get you back on track.
